Irish Success For Te Akau

Te Akau Racing's famous tangerine colours were carried to victory at the Curragh in Ireland on Sunday when Torcedor (Fastnet Rock-Magnolia Lane, by Sadler's Wells) was successful in the €150,000 Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders' Fund Northfields Handicap over 2000m, reports NZ Racing Desk. A 3YO by Fastnet Rock out of the Sadler's Wells mare Magnolia Lane - a sister to four-time Ascot Gold Cup winner Yeats - Torcedor was purchased by Te Akau principal David Ellis from the Deauville Sale in France for €70,000. Trained by David Wachman, Torcedor is raced by Sir Peter Vela, Sir Patrick Hogan, Mohammed Moussa and Laurie Laxon. Torcedor took his record to 2 wins and 3 placings from 6 starts for €104,515 earnings.
