Simple Verse Appeal Next Week

Tuesday, 15th September 2015

Connections of Simple Verse, a controversial loser of the St Leger Stakes on Saturday, will have to wait until next week to find out if their appeal is successful after the British Horseracing Authority put back a hearing scheduled for Thursday, reports Sky Sports. Trained by Ralph Beckett for Qatar Racing, Simple Verse was first past the post in Saturday's Gr1 St Leger Stakes at Doncaster but was demoted to second after stewards ruled she had caused sufficient interference to runner-up Bondi Beach in the concluding stages to warrant the latter being awarded the race. "The hearing will now be held on either Tues 22, Weds 23 or Fri 25 September, TBC based on counsel's availability," the BHA tweeted.
