Fell Swoop Wins Listed Testa Rossa Stakes

Monday, 21st September 2015

At Caulfield in Melbourne, Arrowfield Stud's multiple stakes-winning stallion Not A Single Doubt (Redoute's Choice-Single's Bar, by Rory's Jester) added a black-type success when 4YO gelding Fell Swoop (Not a Single Doubt-Touched in Flight, by Fasliyev) scored by 0.3-length for trainer Matthew Dale in the $120,000 Listed Testa Rossa Stakes (1200m) for 3YO+, over 5YO gelding Charlie Boy (Myboycharlie-Maritime, by Falbrav) & fellow 4YO gelding Java (Medaglia d'Oro-Dawn Attack, by Fantastic Light). This was consecutive stakes victories for Fell Swoop who took his record to 8 wins (including the Listed Cup Club Stakes) and 1 placing from 10 starts for $348,170 earnings. Fell Swoop was purchased by Dale for $45,000 at the 2013 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale from the draft of Dartbrook Downs. "He was in trouble at the top of the straight, real trouble, and for him to balance up and fight back like that shows the true quality of a tough racehorse that really wants to win," Dale told Racing.com. Dale said he was not sure where Fell Swoop would race next. "Everything is on the cards, we'll just assess when we get home," he said.
