At Caulfield in Melbourne, Darley's 2006 Champion 2YO Colt & 2007 Gr1 Kentucky Derby-winning shuttler Street Sense (Street Cry-Bedazzle, by Dixieland Band) added a Group success when 5YO mare Politeness (Street Sense-Berengaria, by Commands) scored by 0.2-length for trainer Robert Smerdon in the $150,000 Gr3 How Now Stakes (1200m) for 4YO+ mares, over fellow 5YO mares Griante (Good Journey-Grand Strategy, by Strategic) & Jessy Belle (Rock of Gibraltar-Unconditional Love, by Elusive Quality). Politeness, who was a $115,000 purchase by Malua and Bahen Bloodstock at the 2012 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale from the draft of Sledmere Stud, took her record to 6 wins (including the Gr3 Summoned Stakes, Gr3 PJ Bell Stakes & Listed Bel Esprit Stakes) and 4 placings (including the Gr2 Thousand Guineas Prelude & Listed Lexus Hybrid Plate) from 24 starts for $510,550 earnings.
