Avisto Retired To Stud

Wednesday, 23rd September 2015

Talented New Zealand filly Avisto (Tavistock-Miraculous Miss, by Exceed and Excel) has been retired to the breeding barn due to injury, reports the informant.co.nz. The 4YO daughter of Tavistock suffered a ligament injury when resuming  at Taupo last Friday in what was her first start since finishing down the track behind Platinum Witness in the 1,000 Guineas last November. "It is a pity, but she gave us a good run and if there's a positive it's that the timing means she can go to stud now," said Adrian Clark, principal of Challenge Syndicates who raced Avisto on lease from breeder Nearco Stud. "She has a booking to Savabeel, so that will be the next exciting stage of her career." Avisto retires with 3 wins from 10 starts for NZ$94,000 prize money. Her three wins were all at black-type level, namely in the Listed Great Northern Foal Stakes, Listed Soliloquy Stakes, and the Listed O'Leary Fillies Stakes.
