Hi World To Appreciate Strong Tempo: Moody

Wednesday, 23rd September 2015

Trainer Peter Moody is expecting promising galloper Hi World (High Chaparral-Beauty World, by Danehill Dancer) to give a bold account of himself in Saturday's Gr1 Underwood Stakes (1800m) at Caulfield. The 4YO son of High Chaparral has performed well in his two runs this campaign, finishing a close-up fifth and tenth in the Gr1 Memsie Stakes (1400m) and Gr1 Makybe Diva Stakes (1600m) respectively. Moody said a lack of tempo conspired against Hi World in the Makybe Diva eleven days ago, and believes a genuinely run race will give his charge every chance to break through for a maiden top-flight success. "He'll run in the Underwood. I think his two runs have been good. At weight-for-age last start he was only beaten two lengths," Moody told Racing.com. "They went ridiculously slow the other day and he just got outsprinted, so I think a more solid tempo in this race will certainly suit him and give him his chance." When asked what other races he had in mind for Hi World during the carnival, Moody said he was keeping his options open. "I honestly believe he is going to be more of an autumn horse than a spring horse, but he's entered in everything so we will be open minded," he said.
