Final Metropolitan Field

Wednesday, 30th September 2015

The Gr1 Metropolitan (2400m) will be run at Royal Randwick on Saturday with a field of 15 stayers set to compete for the $750,000 prize money on offer. Weights were raised 3.5kg to adhere to the rule that the top weight must carry 58kg in a Gr1 race. The Chris Waller-trained Beaten Up, the highest rated horse in the event, has been allotted top weight of 58kg with a 2.5kg spread over the field. Beaten Up is one of five horses from the Sydney stable of champion trainer Chris Waller with Junoob, Opinion, Hawkspur, and the in-form Beyond Thankful, also taking their chance. Godolphin galloper Magic Hurricane, who has drawn barrier one, heads the market at $4, ahead of Almoonqith ($6), Beaten Up ($8), Chance To Dance ($8), Beyond Thankful ($11) and Orbec ($11).
