Waller To Train Smart Kiwi Mare

Wednesday, 30th September 2015

Talented Kiwi mare Lady Le Fay (Thorn Park-Mia le Fay, by Zabeel) has joined the Sydney stable of champion trainer Chris Waller, reports theinformant.co.nz. Originally prepared by Paul and Kris Shailer, Lady Le Fay won 5 of 12 starts before being transferred to new trainer Tony Pike in July. The 5YO, who has not raced since claiming her maiden stakes success in the Listed Anzac 1600 at Awapuni in the autumn, was set to resume at Hastings last week, but the abandonment of the Windsor Park Plate meeting precipitated the decision to transfer her to Waller. "When that happened we looked at our options and decided to send her straight to Sydney," owner and racing manager Michael Hughes said. "Chris can evaluate her and then make his mind up on a programme." He added: "There are plenty of options for her over there. If she was to kick off well she might even make it down to Melbourne for a carnival race or two."
