Blue-Blood Debut Filly Misses By A Short Head

Tuesday, 1st March 2016

An impeccably bred daughter of Coolmore's champion sire Fastnet Rock failed by a short head on her debut at Terang in Victoria yesterday. Sent off a $2.30 favourite by the Ciaron Maher yard following a string trial behind Group horses, the well named St Swithuns (Fastnet Rock-Harrow, by Dehere) had to play second fiddle to second favourite Get The Dukes Out. St Swithuns, a half-sister to Gr1-placed We're Gonna Rock from the family of Gr1 winners Porto Roca & Bluebird The Word, was a $400,000 Inglis Easter Sale graduate in 2014 being sold for $170,000 at the Magic Millions National Racehorse Sale in 2015. Harrow has a Fastnet Rock colt and a Redoute's Choice colt to follow St Swithuns.
