Wednesday, 2nd March 2016

Also on Day-3 of the 2016 Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale, a chestnut colt by former Gr1 Blue Diamond Stakes winner and now emerging sire Reward For Effort (Exceed and Excel-Miss Prospect, by Rory's Jester) was knocked down for the day's second highest price of $380,000. Consigned by Supreme Thoroughbreds out of the Encosta de Lago mare Batik (a full-sister to Pretty Penny, dam of Gr1-placed Group winner Sertorious & Gr3 winner Clifton Red), the colt became another prized purchase for prominent global operation China Horse Club Racing. The third dam Tontina is a full-sister to Gr1 Golden Slipper winner Tontonan.
