Inglis Melb Premier Book-2: $220,000 New Colt Record

Thursday, 3rd March 2016

On Day-4 (Book-2) of the 2016 Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale, trainer Ciaron Maher established a new session record when extending to $220,000 to acquire a Teofilo colt from the draft of Yarran Thoroughbreds. Outbidding Paul Moroney to take home the son of unraced Husson mare Alyna, Maher said, "He was a similar type of horse to [Gr1 VRC Oaks winner] Jameka. Teofilo is doing a great job and it was a nice page. He's just a lovely athletic horse that really uses himself, which is what I look for."
