Million Dollar Yearling Knocking On The Door
Still at Warwick Farm, another high profile yearling just missed out winning her Maiden. In the day's second race, 3YO filly Maraam (Street Cry-Munro, by Lonhro) had to settle for second after receiving solid backing, shortening from $4.60 to $3.80. Going down by a short-head, Maraam has now had three starts for 2 placings and a 4th, and a win doesn't seem far away. Trained by Team Snowden, Maraam was a $1,050,000 yearling at the 2014 Inglis Easter Sale from the draft of Segenhoe Stud. From the family of Champion Australian 2YO Forensics, out of a Lonhro mare, Maraam is owned by globally successful identity Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum, who purchased 4 yearlings at Inglis Ester last year for a combined price of $5,015,000.
