Valuable Fastnet Rock Colt Wins On Debut

Thursday, 3rd March 2016

At Warwick Farm in Sydney yesterday, valuable 2YO colt Rock And Swing (Fastnet Rock-Dance On By, by Sadler's Wells) scored by a short head on debut over 1200m after missing the start badly and encountering plenty of traffic problems in the last 200m of the race. Part-owned by Dato Chan Tin Nam's Think Big Stud, Rock And Swing was secured by Think Big Stud manager Duncan Ramage for NZ$600,000 at the 2015 NZB National Yearling Sales Premier Session. Rock And Swing, trained by James Cummings, is bred to get a lot further, being by a Sadler's Wells mare who is a full-sister to Champion racehorse and globally successful sire High Chaparral as well as Gr1-placed Gr2 winner Black Bear Island. His 3rd dam Kozana was the Joint Champion 3YO of France, and it will be no surprise to see Rock And Swing develop into a middle distance horse of note.
