Quinella Queen To Salute Again

Friday, 4th March 2016

One of the most promising sprinting mares in Australia looks set to cash in again tomorrow in one of the few races not carrying black-type at Flemington – Race 3. That won't worry trainer Lee and Michael Freedman who put the polish on Godolphin's Estaminet (Lonhro-Estee, by Redoute's Choice) whose past 7 starts have produced top two finishes, five of them in first place. Although her dam Estee ran in the Gr3 Sweet Embrace Stakes (1200m) as a 2YO, she was better over further ground, finishing runner-up in the Gr1 Schweppes Oaks (2005m) in Adelaide after winning the Listed Adelaide Guineas (1600m). Whether Estaminet will extend her range in time to come remains to be seen, however at this stage she is just a natural racehorse who knows how to find the line over the shorter trips, and black-type looms as highly likely. Estaminet is an even money chance to keep the winning sequence going.
