Heavens Above Wins Gr3 Aspiration Quality

Monday, 7th March 2016

At Royal Randwick in Sydney, Darley's deceased shuttler & Gr1 Dubai World Cup winner Street Cry (Machiavellian-Helen Street, by Troy) added a Group success when 4YO mare Heavens Above (Street Cry-Reggie, by Germano) scored by 0.5-length for trainer Tim Martin in the $150,000 Gr3 Aspiration Quality (1600m) for 3YO+ f&m, over 5YO mare All Cerise (Redoute's Choice-Trick Taker, by Capote) & fellow 4YO mare Alegria (Medaglia d'Oro-Pure Joy, by Fusaichi Pegasus). Remarkably this was the first stakes victory for the highly talented Heavens Above who boosted her record to 3 wins and 7 placings (including the Gr3 Keith F Nolan Classic) from 12 starts for $271,520 earnings. Heavens Above, who is out of the Gr3-winning staying mare Reggie, was passed in for $170,000 at the 2013 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale from the draft of Broadwater Thoroughbreds.
