Chrome Pleases Sherman

Tuesday, 8th March 2016

Trainer Art Sherman says that champion US racehorse California Chrome is exactly where he wants him to be leading into the US$10 million Gr1 Dubai World Cup at Meydan on 26 March, reports Blood Horse. The 2014 US Horse of the Year has looked better than ever winning both his starts this year; firstly when resuming in the Gr2 San Pasqual Stakes at Santa Anita Park on 9 January and then in a 2000 metre handicap at Meydan on 25 February, where the Kentucky Derby & Preakness Stakes winner looked awesome cruising to an effortless 2-length win on his UAE debut. "It was just what I wanted," Sherman said of the Meydan win. "He was under wraps the whole time and we don't have to do much with him now. He's got that mile and a quarter in him, so we just have to keep him happy and fresh, and don't have to get into him too much."
