Petits Filous Wins Trial

Tuesday, 8th March 2016

Talented sprinting filly Petits Filous (Street Boss-Excellent Lady, by Exceed and Excel) has pleased trainer Ciaron Maher by easily winning a trial at Cranbourne yesterday. It was the 3YOs first public outing since her four-race winning streak came to an end when 10th in the Gr1 Moir Stakes (1000m) at Moonee Valley in October. “I thought she was great – she’s come back well,” Maher told Racing.com. “She’s really furnished...her action looks quite fluent and smooth. Damien [Oliver] gave her a good report so all the signs are good at this stage." He added: "She just took a little bit of time to come to hand and I think she’s still a little pretty – she probably needs another hit-out so she might trial next week again at Caulfield.” Maher said he is yet to decide on an autumn program for the daughter of Street Boss. "The William Reid [Gr1] might be an option, she’s won a couple of races around the Valley or maybe even up in Sydney, there’s a couple of three-year-old races there," he said. "The Robert Sangster Stakes [Gr1] is definitely an option a bit later as well." Petits Filous has won 4 of her 5 starts hitherto, highlighted by her victory in the Gr3 Quezette Stakes (1100m) in August.
