Rosehill Guineas Next For Jameka

Wednesday, 9th March 2016

Victorian trainer Ciaron Maher has confirmed that high-class 3YO filly Jameka (Myboycharlie-Mine Game, by General Nediym) will make her next appearance in the Gr1 Rosehill Guineas (2000m) in Sydney on 19 March. Last season's VRC Oaks winner resumed with a solid fourth in the Gr3 Vanity Stakes (1400m) at Flemington, before yet another encouraging performance when fifth (beaten 2 lengths) behind top colt Palentino in last weekend's Gr1 Australian Guineas (1600m). "I was very happy with her," Maher told Melbourne's Radio Sport National. "Damien [jockey Damien Oliver] said after the race that he felt like something got onto her heels prior to straightening and she sort of grabbed the bit and took off on him which left her vulnerable late. I think she will come on in leaps and bounds from that run." He added: "She will probably go to the Rosehill Guineas at her next start and we can work it out form there."
