Craftiness Ready To Show Best

Friday, 11th March 2016

Meanwhile, trainer Joe Pride is confident Terravista's stable-mate and fellow talented sprinter Craftiness (Starcraft-Rosecutter, by Redoute's Choice) can bounce back to form in tomorrow's Gr3 Maurice McCarten Stakes (1100m) at Rosehill. The 5YO, who resumed with a second placing (beaten 3 lengths) behind Felines in a 1000 metre Benchmark 93 race at Randwick on 6 February, will race in bar plates as well as blinkers for the first time in an attempt to sharpen his focus. "He trialled in exactly what he's racing in - including the bar plates - last Friday. So I think punters can make up there own mind; they can watch that trial and assess him on that because that is the gear he will be racing in on Saturday," Pride told Melbourne's Radio Sport National. "I'm pretty confident that he will run well." He added: "Its looks a suitable race and I don't think it is an overly hard race. He's in good order and at Rosehill over 1100 metres he's got very good stats." Indeed, Craftiness is unbeaten at Rosehill over the distance winning his only two starts to date. Craftiness will be ridden by Singapore-based jockey Corey Brown and will jump from barrier 8. Click here to watch Craftiness's 837m barrier trial win at Randwick last Friday.
