Capitalist Cleared For Slipper

Wednesday, 16th March 2016

One-time Golden Slipper favourite Capitalist has been cleared by Racing NSW vets to run in the $3.5 million Gr1 feature at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday. Racing NSW Senior Official Veterinarian, Dr Craig Suann inspected Capitalist after he worked at Randwick yesterday morning and determined the colt to be sound. Racing NSW stewards had reported the Magic Millions 2YO Classic winner was "mildly" lame following his shock defeat in the Gr2 Todman Stakes (1200m) at Randwick on 5 March. However, the report was strongly contradicted by the colt's trainers Peter & Paul Snowden, with Paul Snowden saying he was "fine" and "definitely not lame."
