Extreme Choice To Sport New Silks In Slipper
Golden Slipper favourite Extreme Choice (Not A Single Doubt-Extremely, by Hussonet) will run in the red and yellow star silks of the China Horse Club in Saturday's $3.5 million juvenile feature after they and Newgate Farm struck a multi-million deal to secure a controlling interest in the exciting youngster, reports The Age. Other members of the syndicate include Aquis Farm, Matthew Sandblom and SF Bloodstock. It is believed the deal includes a clause which will boost the purchase price to more than $20 million should the Mick Price-trained colt win Saturday's race. The intention is for the Gr1 Blue Diamond Stakes winner to stand at Newgate Farm at Aberdeen in the Hunter Valley when his racing days are over. "It has been my dream to stand a Golden Slipper winner at Newgate and this colt fits the bill," Newgate managing director Henry Field said. "He is already a Group One winning juvenile from the Blue Diamond and one of the fastest two-year-olds in Australia in the past decade. He goes into Australia's biggest stallion making race unbeaten and is the stand out in a quality field," he said.
