Beadman Confident Of Forward Show From Bow Creek

Wednesday, 30th March 2016

Meanwhile, Godolphin assistant trainer Darren Beadman says he expects Irish-bred import Bow Creek ($15) to put up a bold showing in Saturday's $3 million Gr1 Doncaster Mile at Royal Randwick, reports racingnsw.com.au. The 5YO Shamardal entire has been in good form this campaign winning the Gr2 Peter Young Stakes (1800m) at Caulfield on 27 February, before running an encouraging eighth (beaten just 2 lengths) in the Gr1 Australian Cup (2000m) at Flemington on 12 March. "The horse is perfect, he's drawn a good barrier [4] and has an outstanding rider in James McDonald aboard," Beadman said. "His two runs in Melbourne have been excellent and we couldn't be happier with him. He is dropping back from 2000-metres but he's a quality five-year-old and has won between 1400-metres and 1800-metres so the Doncaster distance will be just right for him." He added: "Hopefully he brings his good form to Randwick and will run a big race."
