Deep Field Busiest Sire In 2015
Breednet reports that the Australian Stud Book recently published statistics relating to "Sires by coverings" for the 2015 breeding season. The statistics, as at 1st March 2016, show that Newgate Farm's exciting first season sire Deep Field (Northern Meteor) proved very popular with breeders covering 257 mares at a service fee of $22,000. The Gr2 winner and Gr1 placegetter has all the attributes to make it as a top stallion being a full brother to Caulfield Guineas winner Shooting To Win and a direct descendant of legendary broodmare Eight Carat. Other high profile racehorses who served large books in their first season at stud included Rubick (213), Dissident (196), Shooting To Win (154), and Wandjina (153).
