Well-Earned Break For Smart Kiwi Stayer

Thursday, 31st March 2016

Meanwhile, Auckland Cup placegetter Sacred Master (Mastercraftsman-Trickle, by Storm Creek) has been spelled with long-range plans yet to be decided for the progressive stayer, reports NZ racing Desk. "He will have a good long spell. He'll come back in the winter and we will decide what to do with him in the spring," trainer Tony Pike said. Sacred Master confirmed his status as one of the most promising stayers in New Zealand when scoring a fast-finishing win in the Gr2 Avondale Cup (2400m) in February, before rounding out his preparation with a third in the Auckland Cup earlier this month. The 4YO Raffles Racing-owned gelding has won 6 of his 13 starts to date.
