Golden Jubilee Confirmed For Holler
Godolphin's Australian managing director Henry Plumptre has confirmed that Holler (Commands-Shouts, by Strategic) will run in the Gr1 Golden Jubilee Stakes (1200m) at Royal Ascot on 18 June. Holler, who will be Australia's only representative at the royal meeting this year, was entered for both the Gr1 King's Stand Stakes (1000m) and Gr1 Golden Jubilee Stakes (1200m), but Plumptre said the latter was the more suitable option. "He is going to run in the Golden Jubilee. John [trainer John O'Shea] thinks that is the better race for him because he is a horse that loves to set his own tempo," said Plumptre. "He's not good when he gets rushed off his feet early in a race and I think if he can get into a nice tempo over six [furlongs] at Ascot, its more like a seven [furlongs] really. I think that will be the perfect distance for him." Plumptre said Holler would return home after Royal Ascot to prepare for Australia's premier Gr1 sprints next season. "He will come back to Australia but what we'd like to do is to race on with him next year and have a crack at those open sprints," he said. "I think his run behind Flamberge at Moonee Valley [in the Gr1 William Reis Stakes] confirmed that he's right up there with the best sprinters." Holler flew out for England yesterday. The 3YO colt has built up an impressive record winning 4 of his 11 starts, highlighted by his Gr1 victory in the Canterbury Stakes (1300m) at Randwick on 5 March. At his most recent outing, he was runner-up to Flamberge in the Gr1 William Reid Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley on 24 March.
