Perfect Fit Well Ahead Of Australian Debut
Trainer Ken Kelso says classy Kiwi mare Perfect Fit has settled in well since arriving in Queensland eleven days ago, reports theinformant.co.nz. Perfect Fit is scheduled to run in Saturday's Gr2 QTC Cup (1300m) at Eagle Farm which will serve as a lead-up to her primary winter target, the Gr1 Tattersall's Tiara (1400m) on 25 June. The 4YO has been in brilliant form this season winning five of her past six domestic outings, including a last-start win in the Gr1 New Zealand Thoroughbred Breeders' Stakes at Te Rapa. "She's nicely in at the weights and all we need now is a draw to match," Kelso said. "She had a good hit-out on the course proper here yesterday [Tuesday] morning." He added: "It's all fairly new to her but she's settled in happy and finished her work off well, just on 36 (seconds) for her last 600, which wasn't that much worse than the best of the morning." Kelso in unfazed by the prospect of rain on Saturday. "It would be a bit of a pity if the forecast is right, but it shouldn't worry her. She doesn't mind a bit of moisture in the ground," he said. "A good draw and a decent result on Saturday - that would set her up nicely for the big one [Gr1 Tatts Tiara] back there in three weeks' time." Perfect Fit, who is by Elusive City out of the three-time Gr1-winning mare Fayreform, has won 6 of her 11 starts to date for over NZ$260,000 prize money.
