Postponed Wins Gr1 Coronation Cup

Monday, 6th June 2016

At Epsom in the UK, Darley's triple Gr1-winning world-class shuttle stallion Dubawi (Dubai Millennium-Zomaradah, by Deploy) celebrated an elite success when 5YO Irish-bred entire Postponed (Dubawi-Ever Rigg, by Dubai Destination) scored by 4.5-lengths for trainer Roger Varian in the Gr1 Coronation Cup (12 furlongs) for 3YO+, over 4YO mare Found (Galileo-Red Evie, by Intikhab) & 5YO gelding Roseburg (Tamayuz-Raydaniya, by In the Wings). Postponed, who stamped himself as one of the best middle-distance horses in the world, advanced his record to 8 wins (including the Gr1 Sheema Classic & Gr1 King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes) and 6 placings (including the Gr1 Tattersalls Gold Cup) from 16 starts for £3,854,280 earnings. Trainer Roger Varian said that Postponed would now attempt to defend his title in the Gr1 King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes next month. "Postponed is a remarkably versatile horse," he said. "He's very balanced and just the ultimate athlete. The timing for this is right to go straight to the King George now."
