Exaggerator Gallops At Belmont

Tuesday, 7th June 2016

Preakness Stakes winner Exaggerator galloped at Belmont Park yesterday morning as he prepares to take on 12 rivals in Saturday's US$1.5 million Gr1 Belmont Stakes in New York, reports Blood Horse. The son of 7-time Gr1 winner Curlin galloped a total of 1.5 miles under the watchful eye of trainer Keith Desormeaux. "He looks great," Desormeaux said. "I haven't seen him in 12 days. I think he put on a few pounds, which is always a positive quality, especially when you're running races that are so close together. Julie (assistant trainer Julie Clark) and his groom tell me he's eating all his meals with vigor. That's all we can ask for." Desormeaux said Exaggerator would jog on the training track on Tuesday and school in the paddock in the days leading up to the Belmont.
