Fair Eva Another Winner For Frankel
Fair Eva became the first winning offspring of Frankel to carry the colours of his owner-breeder Khalid Abdullah when posting an impressive debut victory at Haydock overnight, reports Sky Sports. The Roger Charlton-trained Fair Eva looked a filly of some potential when strolling to a 4-length win under a hands and heels ride by Ryan Moore in the Irish Champions Weekend EBF Novice Fillies' Stakes over 1200 metres. Fair Eva, who holds an entry in the Gr1 Moyglare Stud Stakes later in the year, is the fourth foal from the Gr1-winning mare African Rose (Observatory), who is a sister to Gr3 winner Helleborine and out of a half-sister to Gr1 Dewhurst Stakes winner Distant Music. Charlton said he expects Fair Eva to eventually stay further than six furlongs. "She's a professional and she moved like you'd hope a Frankel might," he said. "She overcame a difficult start and I thought when he (Ryan Moore) pressed the button, she looked impressive and she galloped well out to the line which is a characteristic of the Frankels I've seen that have won." He added: "They take a bit of pulling up, so she should get further. I don't know where she'll go next. I've not looked yet." Frankel improved his strike rate for his 2YOs this season to three winners from four runners with Fair Eva joining fellow winning debutants Cunco and Queen Kindly. Frankel's first winner, the John Gosden-trained Cunco, is expected to make his next appearance in the Listed Chesham Stakes at Royal Ascot next week.
