Frankuss Makes It 4 From 5 For Frankel
Just 24 hours after Fair Eva became the first winning offspring of Frankel to carry the colours of his owner-breeder Khalid Abdullah, Frankuus boosted his sire's impressive strike rate for his 2YOs this season to 4 winners from 5 runners when winning at Haydock overnight, reports Racing Post. Trained by Mark Johnston for Hussain Lootah and Amad Al Shaikh, Frankuss ran out a comfortable 1.75-length winner of a 7-furlong maiden despite showing signs of greenness. Frankuss is out of the unplaced Linamix mare Dookus, making him a half-brother to Gr3 Prix Thomas Bryon winner and Gr1 Criterium International third US Law. This is also the family of Gr1 scorers Pharaoh's Delight and Red Rocks. Frankuss joins Fair Eva, Queen Kindly and Cunco as juvenile winners for Frankel. His first winner, the John Gosden-trained Cunco, is expected to make his next appearance in the Listed Chesham Stakes at Royal Ascot next week. Trained by the late Sir Henry Cecil, Frankel was unbeaten in 14 starts, winning ten Gr1 races and finishing his racing career with a phenomenal Timeform Rating of 147, the highest in history. He stands at Juddmonte's Banstead Manor Stud near Newmarket at a fee of £125,000.
