QTC Cup Perfect Fit For Kiwi Mare

Friday, 10th June 2016

Co-trainer Ken Kelso is upbeat about the winning prospects of Perfect Fit in tomorrow's Gr2 QTC Cup (1300m) at Eagle Farm, reports NZ Racing Desk. Perfect Fit, who is by Elusive City out of the three-time Gr1-winning mare Fayreform, has been in outstanding form this preparation winning five of her past six starts, culminating with a Gr1 success in the New Zealand Thoroughbred Breeders' Stakes (1600m) at Te Rapa on 9 April. "I'm very happy with her. She's thrived over there. She's working well and eating well," said Kelso. "I was disappointed the races were called off last week. We had a lot in our favour. She handles a wet track and there were six scratchings and she'd drawn [barrier] two. This week it's a full field and she's drawn 11, though it's not quite as strong a field as some of the better ones have opted for the Stradbroke." While Kelso is expecting a typically forward showing from Perfect Fit on Saturday, he stressed that the 4YOs primary winter target is the Gr1 Tattersall's Club Tiara (1400m) at Eagle Farm in two weeks time.
