Real Love My Best Chance: Weir

Friday, 10th June 2016

Champion trainer Darren Weir believes his best chance of landing a winner on Stradbroke Handicap day at Eagle Farm tomorrow is with Real Love in the Gr2 Brisbane Cup, reports Racing.com. Weir also has top chances in the Stradbroke Handicap and Queensland Derby with Black Heart Bart and Howard Be Thy Name respectively, but has opted for the former West Australian mare has his leading prospect. A winner of 3 of her past 5 outings, including a last start victory in the Gr3 Premier's Cup (2200m) at Doomben, the Bob & Sandra Peters-owned Real Love (Desert King-Flaming Heart, by Salieri) is yet to miss a place in seven appearances since arriving at Weir's stables from Perth in January this year. "I'm happy with all three horses, but Real Love doesn't seem to let you down," Weir said. "She's one of those good, tough, honest mares who holds her form." Weir added: "She looks amazing. She's in great order a very sound, happy and healthy horse. I'm sure she'll run well." Real Love is the $3.80 TAB favourite for tomorrow's Brisbane Cup. She will be ridden by Brad Rawiller and has drawn barrier ten.
