Tuesday, 14th June 2016

In the inaugural race at Eagle Farm's highly anticipated reopening in Brisbane last Saturday, Darley's Gr1-winning shuttler Poet's Voice (Dubawi-Bright Tiara, by Chief's Crown) celebrated his first Australian stakes winner (and second overall) when the filly My Country (Poet's Voice-Bells Will Ring, by Danehill) scored a half-length win for trainers Peter & Paul Snowden in the $100,000 Listed Lancester Stakes (1200m) for 2YO fillies. Runner-up was Invincibella (I am Invincible-Abscond, by Galileo) ahead of Nonpareil (Commands-Serenissima). A $140,000 purchase from Millbrook by Louise La Matayer's Astute Bloodstock at the 2015 Magic Millions Gold Coast Sale, My Country took her record to 3 wins and a runner-up from 4 starts for $115,250 earnings.
