Nostradamus Settles In At Victoria's Rosemont Stud
Rosemont Stud principal Anthony Mitten has welcomed Nostradamus (Medaglia d'Oro-Leone Chiara, by Lion Hunter) to the Victorian farm's stallion barn after the 2016 freshman sire was retired the weekend before last. A handsome type expected to let down into a magnificent specimen, Nostradamus was a $500,000 Inglis Easter yearling. The second highest rated Australian son of champion sire Medaglia d'Oro (behind only Gr1 Golden Slipper winner Vancouver), Nostradamus is a half-brother to Gr1 Blue Diamond Stakes & Gr1 Coolmore Stud Stakes winner Star Witness. A Group winner as both a 3 and 4-year-old, and beaten only 3.5-lengths in the Blue Diamond as a 2YO, during his racetrack career Nostradamus finished ahead of the likes of Gr1 Delectation, Wandjina, Stratum Star, Earthquake, Almalad, Bel Sprinter, Hallowed Crown, Malaguerra, The Quarterback, Super One and Flamberge. He retires to stud at a fee of $8,800.
