Final Work For Holler Ahead Of Diamond Jubilee
Holler, Australia's only representative at Royal Ascot this week, has had his final hit-out ahead of the Gr1 Diamond Jubilee Stakes (1200m) on Saturday. The 3YO went six furlongs on the straight Limekilns grass gallop at Newmarket on Tuesday under race jockey James McDonald. "Holler went well this morning over six furlongs and he is looking on track for Royal Ascot on Saturday," trainer John O'Shea told the Godolphin website. "He has had a nice preparation since arriving in Newmarket and appears to have met the challenges of the undulating ground and the straight run having worked three times over the last couple of weeks." O'Shea added :"We are happy enough at this stage with his preparation and we are looking forward to Saturday's race." McDonald commented after the trackwork: "Holler felt good this morning and put in a nice piece of work. He seems to have adapted well to the conditions and I am excited for Saturday's race." Holler (Commands-Shouts, by Strategic) has built up an impressive record winning 4 of his 11 starts, highlighted by his Gr1 victory in the Canterbury Stakes (1300m) at Randwick on 5 March. At his most recent outing, he was runner-up to Flamberge in the Gr1 William Reid Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley on 24 March.
