Bradester Wins Gr1 Stephen Foster Handicap

Monday, 20th June 2016

At Churchill Downs in the US, multiple Gr1-winning former Coolmore shuttler Lion Heart (Tale of the Cat-Satin Sunrise, by Mr Leader) celebrated an elite success when 6YO entire Bradester (Lion Heart-Grandestofall, by Grand Slam) scored by 0.5-length for trainer Eddie Kenneally in the US$500,000 Gr1 Stephen Foster Handicap (9 furlongs) for 3YO+, over 4YO entire Eagle (Candy Ride-Sea Gull, by Mineshaft) & 8YO entire Majestic Harbor (Rockport Harbor-Champagne Royale, by French Deputy). This was the maiden Gr1 victory for Bradester who improved his record to 9 wins (including the Gr2 Monmouth Cup) and 8 placings from 23 starts for US$1,56,532 earnings. "He's won five or six graded stakes prior to today, but to win a grade I with him is phenomenal," trainer Eddie Kenneally told Blood Horse. "Now he has established himself. He is a beautiful horse, so now he's got credentials to be a stallion, hopefully, at some point in his career here in Kentucky and I think he's earned that right."
