Tango Rain Shows Spring Potential
Trainer Gerald Ryan will consider a spring campaign later in the year for well bred colt Tango Rain after the 2YO posted a stylish debut win at Canterbury yesterday. Owned by Muzaffar Yaseen's Teeley Assets Ltd, Tango Rain is by Manhattan Rain out of the Anabaa mare Tango Fire and is a three-quarter brother to Gr2 SAJC Queen Of The South Stakes winner Tango's Daughter (Redoute's Choice). Tango Rain jumped smartly and showed good speed before kicking clear in the straight to hold off the late surge of the Dalghar gelding Golden Organic to score by 1-length in the 2YO colts & geldings maiden over 1100 metres. "His work Friday morning was exceptional. He worked against an open class horse on Friday morning and gave him three lengths start and beat it three and ran really good time," Ryan told Sky Racing. "He's always shown really good ability. I think he's a nice horse with plenty of improvement in him - I think he can measure up to a good race in the spring."
