Capitalist Close To Trialling

Wednesday, 29th June 2016

Golden Slipper winner Capitalist (Written Tycoon-Kitalpha, by Fusaichi Pegasus) is close to making his return to racing, reports Breednet. The 2YO Written Tycoon colt, who seems assured of champion juvenile honours, won four of his five starts last season including the Listed Breeders Plate, Magic Millions 2YO Classic & Gr1 Golden Slipper. "He's really well, ticking over nicely and will probably be trialling in about three to four weeks," co-trainer Peter Snowden said. Snowden said Capitalist's primary spring targets were likely to be the Gr1 Golden Rose Stakes (1400m) at Rosehill on 10 September, followed by the Gr1 Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m) at Flemington on Derby day (29 October). "It is a bit (ahead of schedule) but he's got a prep, a break, and then another prep to come," Snowden said. "It's a long time to the Coolmore so he'll have two little preps."
