August Return For Nolen

Thursday, 30th June 2016

Jockey Luke Nolen is hoping to make a return to the saddle sometime in August, reports AAP. Nolen, best known for his association with champion sprinter Black Caviar, has been sidelined since falling from Miss Promiscuity in the Gr1 Robert Sangster Stakes in Adelaide last month. The Victorian hoop suffered eight fractured ribs and a fractured shoulder in the fall. "The first week of August is the plan and at this stage I've got no reason to think that's not achievable," Nolen told Melbourne's Radio Sport National. "I had an appointment with the physio on Tuesday and I'll probably do a lot more physio over the next couple of weeks with a view to returning to trackwork towards the middle of next month." He added: "I had a swim on Tuesday as part of my rehabilitation and I'm a bit sore this morning but I'm taking some positive steps."
