Extreme Choice Wins Gr1 Moir Stakes

Tuesday, 4th October 2016

At Moonee Valley in Melbourne, Arrowfield Stud's multiple stakes-winning stallion Not A Single Doubt (Redoute's Choice-Single's Bar, by Rory's Jester) celebrated an elite success when 3YO colt Extreme Choice (Not A Single Doubt-Extremely, by Hussonet) scored by 1.25 lengths for trainer Mick Price in the $500,000 Gr1 Moir Stakes (1000m) for 3YO+, over 4YO mare Heatherly (Lonhro-Dancing Heather, by Danzero) & 5YO mare Wild Rain (Manhattan Rain-North Flower, by Rory's Jester). A $100,000 purchase from the draft of Bell River at the 2015 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale, Extreme Choice improved his record to 4 wins (including the Gr1 Blue Diamond Stakes & Gr3 Chairman's Handicap) from 5 starts for $1,653,750 earnings. Extreme Choice races in the red and yellow star silks of the China Horse Club after they and Newgate Farm struck a multi-million deal to secure a controlling interest in the star colt earlier this year. "He proved tonight he's a real stud colt," trainer Mick Price told racing.com. Price said that Extreme Choice would now bid to triple his Gr1 tally in the Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m) at Flemington on 29 October. "We're just going to keep him fresh and he'll go straight to the Coolmore," he said.
