Found Wins Gr1 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe
At Chantilly in France, former Coolmore shuttler and triple Gr1-winning champion European sire Galileo (Sadler's Wells-Urban Sea, by Miswaki) celebrated an elite trifecta when 4YO Irish-bred mare Found (Galileo-Red Evie, by Intikhab) led home a 1-2-3 finish for trainer Aidan O'Brien when scoring by 1.75 lengths in Europe's greatest race - the Gr1 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe (12 furlongs) - over 4YO entires and stable-mates Highland Reel (Galileo-Hveger, by Danehill) & Order Of St George (Galileo-Another Storm, by Gone West). Owned by the Coolmore triumvirate of Michael Tabor, Derrick Smith, and Susan Magnier, Found improved her record to 6 wins (including the Gr1 Breeders' Cup Turf & Gr1 Prix Marcel Boussac) and 12 placings (including the Gr1 Champion Stakes, Gr1 Irish Champion Stakes - twice, Gr1 Coronation Stakes, Gr1 Yorkshire Oaks & Gr1 Irish 1,000 Guineas) from 19 starts for over £4,932,276 earnings. "I couldn't dream this would happen. You know how difficult the Arc is," O'Brien told Sky Sports. "She's only run over a mile and a half four times before and she was unlucky in the Arc last year. We've had our eye on this for a long time. When Ryan rode her as a two-year-old and said she could win an Arc - he was obviously right. It's a great feeling to saddle the first three home in an Arc, there's not much to beat it, but it's all down to a fantastic team effort." He added: "And what makes it amazing is that they are all by Galileo...it's a privilege to be here."
