French Emotion Wins Gr2 Blazer Stakes

At Flemington in Melbourne, Arrowfield Stud's Gr1-winning high profile stallion Snitzel (Redoute's Choice-Snippets' Lass, by Snippets) added a Group success when 5YO mare French Emotion (Snitzel-Love and Emotion, by Woodman) scored a fast-finishing 0.4 length win for trainer Chris Waller in the $200,000 Gr2 Blazer Stakes (1400m) for 4YO+ mares, over 4YO mare Pure Pride (Shocking-Mamasan, by Shinko King) & 8YO mare Vibrant Rouge (Written Tycoon-Mirage Rouge, by West Point). This was an overdue maiden stakes victory for the richly talented French Emotion who advanced her record to 5 wins and 8 placings from 16 starts for $306,250 earnings. French Emotion, who second dam is the Gr1 Australian Oaks winner My Brilliant Star, hails form the family of Gr1 Toorak Handicap winner Shot Of Thunder and dual Gr1 winning sprinter Sudurka. French Emotion will now head towards the Gr1 Myer Classic (1600m) at Flemington on 29 October.
