Spring Champion Stakes Nominations

As the highest rated horse in the race, Yankee Rose heads the nominations for the $500,000 Gr1 Spring Champion Stakes (2000m) to be run at Royal Randwick on Saturday. The Spring Champion Stakes has been won by some top-class 3YOs during its relatively short history - in addition to the race record holder and current Spendthrift Australia stallion Hampton Court, Gay Icarus won the inaugural running of the race in 1971, followed by other turf stars including Dundeel (2012), Savabeel (2004), Universal Prince (2000), Tie The Knot (1997), Nothin' Leica Dane (1995), Danewin (1994), Stylish Century (1989), Beau Zam (1987), and the legendary Kingston Town (1979). The nominations for the 2016 edition of the race are:
