Monday, 10th October 2016

At Caulfield in Melbourne, former Champion Australian Sire & 11-time Gr1-winning World Champion Miler Lonhro (Octagonal-Shadea, by Straight Strike) added a black-type success when 2YO colt Wait For No One (Lonhro-Divine Choice, by Rock of Gibraltar) scored by 0.1 length for trainers David & Ben Hayes & Tom Dabernig in the $120,000 Listed Debutant Stakes (1000m) for 2YOs, over 2YO fillies Spoils (Snitzel-Fortune of War, by General Nediym) & Miss Wahoo (Master of Design-Fish Dive, by Pins). Bred at Lindsay Park by trainer David Hayes and several long-time clients including Peter Devitt,  Wait For No One took his record to 1 win from 1 start for $72,500 earnings. Wait For No One is out of Listed Maribyrnong Trial Stakes placegetter Divine Choice, herself a three-quarter sister to Cornerstone Stud's Gr2 ATC Skyline Stakes winning stallion Valentia. This is also the family of dual Gr1 winning sprinter Super Elegant and his Group-winning siblings Mr Elegant and Elegancy.
