Aerovelocity On Track For Premier Bowl
Star Hong Kong sprinter Aerovelocity has pleased trainer Paul O'Sullivan after winning a 1200m dirt trial on Tuesday morning. The New Zealand-bred son of Pins will resume in the Gr2 Premier Bowl at Sha Tin on Sunday week, with the Gr1 Hong Kong Sprint on 11 December his long-term aim. "He is eight-years-old now so he will probably take a run, but we will try and peak him in December, so far he is on the right track," O'Sullivan told the South China Morning Post. Jockey Zac Purton agreed that Aerovelocity was still short of peak fitness. "He is probably only about 80 per cent fit at the moment, it was just a matter of making sure he is heading in the right direction," Purton said. "He is doing that, he is doing everything we want him to do. He pulled up and had a good blow, he is going to keep on improving and by the time we get to the Hong Kong Sprint he should be at his peak." Aerovelocity has won 11 of 21 starts hitherto, including four at Gr1 level.
