Russian Revolution Off To Melbourne

Friday, 14th October 2016

Co-trainer Paul Snowden says boom 3YO Russian Revolution (Snitzel-Ballet d'Amour, by Stravinsky) will travel down to Melbourne this weekend as he steps up his preparations for the Gr1 Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m) at Flemington on 29 October. Owned by the China Horse Club, Russian Revolution extended his unbeaten record to 4 wins from 4 starts when defeating Astern in the Gr2 Roman Consul Stakes (1200m) at Randwick at his most recent outing. "He's very well in himself," Snowden told Melbourne's Radio Sport National. "He's been ticking over here [in Sydney] and did a little bit of work on Tuesday...He will venture down [to Melbourne] sometime over the weekend." He added: "He will then have a jump-out next Friday at Flemington." From the Stravinsky mare Ballet d'Amour, Russian Revolution is a direct descendant of celebrated blue hen Fanfreluche, ancestress of former champion Australian sires Encosta de Lago and Flying Spur and former Coolmore stallion Holy Roman Emperor, who now stands at Aquis Farm in Queensland.
