Gr1 Manikato Stakes Field & Barrier Draw

The final field has been declared and the barrier draw conducted for the running of the $1 million Gr1 Manikato Stakes (1200m) to be run at Moonee Valley on Friday night. The race promises to produce an epic clash between sprinting heavyweights Chautauqua and Buffering, as well as Gr1 winners English, Capitalist, Japonisme, Lucky Hussler, Under The Louvre, The Quarterback, Rebel Dane, and Holler, who will be having his first start back in Australia since returning from a failed Royal Ascot campaign. Chautauqua, currently rated the world's best sprinter, is favourite for the race at $2.10 ahead of Golden Slipper hero Capitalist at $6 and English at $9. All other runners are at double figure odds, with Lucky Hussler next best at $10 and veteran Queensland ace Buffering at $11. The field is:
