Australian Bred Colt Keeps Unbeaten Record In South Africa

Monday, 24th October 2016

Three-year-old Australian-bred colt Al Fahad (Redoute's Choice-Albakoor, by Zabeel) maintained his perfect record when scoring an impressive win at Turffontein in South Africa on Saturday. Trained by Mike de Kock for Sheikh Hamden's Shadwell Estate, Al Fahad stretched out stylishly over the concluding stages to win by 2 lengths over Act Of Loyalty and Old Oak Tree in a 96 rating race over 1450 metres to advance his record to 2 wins from 2 starts. By Arrowfield's multiple champion Australian sire Redoute's Choice, Al Fahad is out of the Zabeel mare Albakoor, a full sister to Gr1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes winner Rewaaya. This is the renowned Easy Date family of Gr1-winning sire Snippets, Golden Slipper winner Forensics, and Arrowfield's high profile stallion Not A Single Doubt.
