At Saint-Cloud in France overnight, 4YO French gelding Vazirabad (Manduro-Visorama, by Linamix) made a successful defence of his title when scoring by 1.75 lengths for trainer Alain de Royer-Dupre in the Gr1 Prix Royal-Oak (15.5 furlongs) for 3YO+, over 4YO Irish-bred mare Endless Time (Sea the Stars-Mamonta, by Fantastic Light) & 6YO mare Siljan's Saga (Sagamix-Humoriste, by Saint Cyrien). A homebred for His Highness The Aga Khan, Vazirabad improved his record to 9 wins (including the Gr1 Prix Royal-Oak, Gr2 Prix Chaudenay, Gr2 Dubai Gold Cup & Prix Vicomtesse Vigier) and 2 placings (including the Gr1 Prix du Cadran) from 13 starts.
