Tuesday, 25th October 2016

At Te Rapa in New Zealand yesterday, Inglewood Stud's beautifully bred Gr2-winning & Gr1-placed stallion Zacinto (Dansili-Itacha, by Distant View) added a Group success when 3YO gelding Ugo Foscolo (Zacinto-Bequests, by Stravinsky) scored by a short neck for trainer Stephen Marsh in the NZ$100,000 Gr2 James & Annie Sarten Memorial Stakes (1400m) for 3YOs, over 3YO colts Mongolian Falcon (Fastnet Rock-Amazing Beauty, by Galileo) & Wyndspelle (Iffraaj-Western Star, by High Chaparral). Ugo Foscolo, who was a NZ$50,000 purchase by Bruce Perry Bloodstock on behalf of owner Lib Petagne at the 2015 NZB Select Yearling Sale from the draft of Inglewood Stud, improved his record to 4 wins from 5 starts for NZ$110,625 earnings. Ugo Foscolo will make his next appearance in the 44th running of the Gr1 New Zealand 2000 Guineas (1600m) at Riccarton on 5 November.
